According to RIC's By-Law, to be eligible for admission to RIC membership, you shall:
(a) be of good character;
(b) be not less than 18 years of age;
(c) be a Canadian citizen or permanent resident of Canada;
(d) have no conviction of criminal records;
(e) have a university degree; and
(f) have graduated from an immigration study program approved by the Association. Notwithstanding (e) and (f), the two requirements may be exempted for those consultants who apply in 2005 with the evidence that can prove that they had represented clients in the previous five years (e.i. grandfathering).
In addition, you have to pay annual fee and purchase the error & omission insurance. RIC's current annual membership fee is $300.
To join us, please fill the Application Form and send back along with the following documents:
- Canadian citizenship card or birth certificate or Canadian passport or Maple Leaf card;
- No conviction certificate from the police (can be submitted later);
- Documents showing that you have represented clients (if you are eligible for grandfathering);
- University degree certificate (BA, MA or Ph. D, if you are not eligible for grandfathering);
- Diploma of an immigration study program ( if you are not eligible for grandfathering); and
- Payment for the first year membership fee and for the error & omission insurance premium (if you are not covered by the CSIC program).
